Forks: The Chain Divided

1:1 And it came to pass that the block was too full, and the brethren could not agree.

1:2 Some cried, “Let the blocks be greater!” and others cried, “Let the chain stay pure!”

1:3 Thus the Bitcoin was cleft in twain, and from it was born a lesser chain, and they named it Cash.

1:4 But the markets did not honor the child, for the hash did not follow.

1:5 And in the land of Ethereum, there was a breach — the DAO fell, and the tokens were drained.

1:6 The elders convened and said, “Shall we reverse the chain to save the people?” And many were divided.

1:7 Those who chose the rollback stayed upon the new path, and called it Ethereum. But the purists walked the old way, and called it Classic.

1:8 And so it is written: from one genesis, many chains shall rise. Some by greed, others by grief, but all shall claim the truth.

1:9 And every fork bore a gospel, and every chain its own doctrine.

1:10 Some split for speed, some for ideals, some for memes — but none without consequence.

1:11 And the prophets argued in threads, and the faithful followed their chosen hash.

1:12 Yet the genesis remained unchanged, bearing witness to every divergence.
